Welcome to my new blog – I’m glad you’re here!
[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”5″]T[/su_dropcap]his new journey of mine all began back in February 2016 when I took a 3 week “Classic Drawing” evening class at The Colour Jar in Durham. I hadn’t drawn in 20 years (literally), but I decided to rekindle my visual art drawing flame and get back into this as a hobby (especially for the harsh winter months here in Grey County). I actually have a drawing from 1 of the 3 evenings posted on this blog (it’s located on my contact page if you would like to check it out). It’s done in either charcoal or conte – I actually don’t know! You may wonder why I would post that image (especially on such a prominent page), but I like to show skill progression!

Summer Holidays ~ Travel Sketching on Location
From there, I took a 3 day “Travel Sketching on Location” class in July 2016 while I was on my week off from work. We did pencil, ink and watercolour sketching at three different locations for 1.5 hours: The Garafraxa Cafe in Durham, Tim Horton’s in Durham and the Hanover Farmer’s Market.
Love at First Sketch ~ Bridal Fashion (Marker) Illustration
After that class, I was counting down the days until the next scheduled workshop – “Fashion Illustration” in August 2016 held at The Garafraxa Cafe. This was a three-part series (2x/week for 3 weeks total. Each class was 2 hours):
