For a number of years, I photographed the actual artwork (paintings) for The Art Map’s Landscape Calendar which is produced by ColourPix.

Photographing paintings has its challenges.  Some of the art had a very high gloss, depending on the paint used, therefore there were many reflections to overcome.  Overall, natural window light was the best scenario hanging the painting from a wall with flat even lighting.

The fine art wall calendars feature 12 artists from Bruce, Grey and Simcoe County. Each month features a reproduction of a landscape painting by a local artist.   A few of the artists submitted their own reproductions, but I reproduced most of the months with my digital SLR camera.
